A very romantic film, which is considered as one of the masterpiece Erotic work of Hindi cinema. This is the love story of a beautiful courtesan, Vasantasena and her lover Charudutta. This film is a celebration of the art of love. This film is based on 2 classical Sanskrit plays, “CHARUDUTTA” by ‘Bhasa’ & “THE LITTLE CLAY CART” BY ‘Sudraka’. The story happens in ancient India, at the time when Vatsyayan is writing the epic sex masterpiece, the KAMASUTRA. The city was ruled by an evil king. A shepherd’s son Argak was planning a revolution against the king. One night, the King’s brother-in-law Samsthanak, tried to rape Vasantasena. She escapes and reaches Charudutta’s house. They fall in love & shares their body & soul.This led to a series of unexpected incidents and a story of love, lust & politics is unfolded.
This beautiful movie won many awards also, including 1985 National Film Award for Best Art Direction, Filmfare Best Lyricist Award, Filmfare Best Female Playback Award.

1920s. Vietnam under colonial French ruling. Anti-French rebellions emerge all over the country to disrupt the foreign occupiers.
